ROWTON CASTLE WEDDING: LUCY & KIM

Share a little back story?  How did you guys meet?  Who made the first move?

We both swiped right! Well technically, Kim swiped first haha. Kim sent a very cheesy line to break the ice and then we non stopped chatted for weeks, phone calls at all hours of the night and brilliant weekend trips getting to know one another.

Where and when was the proposal?

We got engaged at Trentham Gardens on the 2^nd November 2019 – It was a complete surprise! Kim set the whole thing up, got all of our families together and Lucy had no idea! It was the fireworks night at the gardens. Kim spent weeks prior planning it all with staff at Trentham. They kindly put up a marquee for us and we filled it with fairly lights and mason jars full of lights. At the end was board on an easel with our favourite lyrics and a message that said “be mine forever?”.

What was the favourite part of your wedding day?

Oh my gosh, we can not pick one moment! Everything from start to finish was incredible and blew all our expectations. If we had to pick one it would probably be the feeling we got after we said our vows and we turned to our family and friends to see beaming smiles and happy tears! There was just so much love!

What was it that made you choose Simply Beautiful Photo & Film to capture your day?

We loved SJ’s approach to wedding photography! From the first virtual call we knew we would get on so well and our engagement shoot confirmed that. The engagement shoot was the most perfect way to get a feel for what it would be like on the day and a flavour of the shots we could look forward to. This was without a doubt such a fabulous part of the service offered!! We could not have asked for better photographers on our wedding day, SJ and Chrissie did the most magnificent job. They worked with us and took time to understand all our plans and found a way to get the shot, even when having to work their magic around 2 aisles!

Have you got any top tips for couples who are planning their wedding?

I think the one everyone says is to take some time for the two of you and we would say the same. We took 10 minutes to our self to take it all in and it was such a special part of the day.  Secondly and importantly, definitely think about getting video! We went for the simply highlights package and we are so excited that we will have short and perfect video that will bring back all the feelings of the day when we watch it! Nothing quite like it.
