Share a little back story? How did you guys meet? Who made the first move?
We met in June 2016 but only in passing whilst he popped in and out of the shop I worked in. I knew him as “Marine Guy” and he was trying to find me on Facebook as “Chelsea Bovington”
A couple of weeks passed of silly flirting before he decided to ask me for my number with his receipt. I said no. Twice. Muahaha.
I eventually caved and we had a magical summer (you could say summer lovin’ had me a blast… lol!) before he deployed for a couple of months. I decided to stay living in Dorset instead of moving back to Kent with my family because I knew I needed Nick to be in my future.
Where and when was the proposal?
We got engaged on the 23rd of October 2019, 3 years to the date of him asking me to be his girlfriend… and exactly three years after the engagement, we got married woohoo! Nicely rounded that one of hey?
He proposed where we had our first date (he’s a little romantic) in Moreton Walled Gardens. We were the only ones there, he’d even packed a picnic, it was beautiful.
What was the favourite part of your wedding day?
Apart from marrying my best friend, the favourite part of my wedding day….. ooh that’s a toughy…. I’d probably have to say the dancing into the night. The energy was amazing and we were surrounded by all our loved ones having the best time. Nick and I even performed for our guests off the cuff but unfortunately it wasn’t captured on anyone’s cameras. There was pizza, booze, cigars, sparklers, Star Wars helmets… simply perfect.
What was it that made you choose Simply Beautiful Photo & Film to capture your day?
We chose simply beautiful as I fell in love with the style of photography I had seen from pictures of a girl I knew. I just happened to stumble upon her engagement pictures on Instagram and I never looked else where.
I couldn’t have got through my wedding day without you Sally. You are sunshine in human form! From the moment we met online and then the whole journey to the wedding day.. you were always so amazing, I am so glad we found you. Our guests were in awe of you and my friend (who isn’t even in a relationship) has already set aside that she needs you to be her photographer for her wedding one day haha! Thank you
Have you got any top tips for couples who are planning their wedding?
I could write a book on tips for what to do/not do on your wedding… I may just do that..
But my number one tip?
Do not settle on YOUR day. It’s yours and your Husbands day. Nobody else’s. Celebrate how YOU want to celebrate. If they want to be there, they will. Oh… and have FUN!
