Share a little back story? How did you guys meet? Who made the first move?
We are both nurses, we met while I was a student nurse and he was working on a ward I was on for placement. Once I had finished my placement I got a little message from Ben saying hi and in his way asking me to meet him for a drink.
I wasn’t sure if it was a date or a friendly drink as I knew Ben had not long moved to Birmingham. I met him for drinks……and got very drunk and he dropped me home in a taxi where there was an awkward hug.
We then met a few more times and the dates turned into a relationship.
Once I qualified as a nurse we moved in together…….. Fast forward a year and we were lucky enough for Tilly to be a surprise pregnancy at 8 months pregnant we moved to Coventry (where I am from) eventually we both got jobs at uhcw then along came max. We then brought our first home together and new house……new baby – Lola our 3rd and final child.
Where and when was the proposal?
Proposal was literally so lovely and unexpected…… We have been together twelve years – three kids, a house and a dog later he decideds to pluck up courage this was September 2020.
He said he was taking me and the kids away somewhere as a surprise to celebrate us getting through covid….. Well hopefully the worse part. (were both nurses – i went a little crazy at one point like most)
We got it out of him that we were going to a glamping type thing so could pack.
He was to nervous to drive so i drove and as soon as we got there he proposed in the tent.
My reaction was Nooooo ……….SHUT UP! Ofcourse I said yes!
He had arranged for three of my closest friends and his to come with their families so it was like a weekend celebration….. Literally the best weekend ever!
Fast forward 18 months and it was our big day ……..what a day!
What was the favourite part of your wedding day?
I would say my favourite part of the day was sitting back and watching everyone I love smiling and laughing together during the meal we were sat holding hands smiling and looking at everyone it was an amazing feeling to think everyone was here to celebrate us.
What was it that made you choose Simply Beautiful Photo & Film to capture your day?
What made us (me ) choose you…….. A local wedding venue shared a video that you had done and I was obsessed with it. Literally still watch it now. From the moment we met you I knew you were our girl x
Have you got any top tips for couples who are planning their wedding?
I would say as a bride don’t be last getting your hair done although mine was done amazing I wish I had it done earlier so I could enjoy the end of the morning and getting my dress on weren’t so hectic. Dont worry about your day going to plan…… We had a two hour powercut thanks to storm Eunice and it just added to atmosphere of the day x
