A BRADFIELD MARQUEE WEDDING: ESTHER & LOUIS

Share a little back story?  How did you guys meet?  Who made the first move?

We met when we were 18 at Corp, the grimiest club in Sheffield! Little did we know though that two of our best friends had met a few weeks before and started seeing each other, until we bumped into them later in the night! They’re also still together and were a bridesmaid and groomsman!

Where and when was the proposal?

We had just bought our first house and got the keys a week before Christmas. We hadn’t moved in fully yet, and were still living at Esther’s parents. It was Christmas Eve, and Esther was doing last minute present wrapping (classic!) at her parents while she thought Louis was working, before he was due to collect some things from our new home before meeting Esther. Little did Esther know, he’d actually taken the day off to set up for the proposal! Louis phoned Esther to say his tyre had popped (it hadn’t!) when he was nearly back at our new house, so she would have to come and collect him. After taking much longer than expected, Esther finally made it across to the new house, and arrived to their song, ‘Three Little Birds’ by Bob Marley, playing. Through the whole house was a pathway of candles, rose petals and heart shaped balloons, leading outside to a corridor of tiki torches, all the way down to a gazebo frame covered in fairy lights, where Louis was waiting underneath with a bottle of prosecco. After many delays, Louis had had to blow out and relight the many candles and tiki torches about 5 times! But it was absolutely magical and the most special moment for us both.

What was the favourite part of your wedding day?

The day as a whole was just a dream and we loved every second! The highlights were getting ready in the morning, seeing each other for the first time at the church, and getting to celebrate and dance away the night (and morning!) with our amazing friends and family. The speeches were incredible too!!! It was all just absolutely amazing and we wish we could do it all again!

We chose Simply Beautiful because we loved the natural, candid feel of their pictures and videos and how they captured the true atmosphere of the day. After our engagement shoot with Alex, we knew we’d made the right decision as she made us so comfortable and we had so much fun!!

Have you got any top tips for couples who are planning their wedding?

Don’t sweat the small stuff, ask for help, make it your own and if you’re into DIY and crafts make some of your own decorations – it’s so rewarding and so much fun if you give yourself chance to enjoy it! Try and make everything you can an occasion to make the celebrations last as long as possible. And most importantly, remember it will all come together and be amazing on the day!
