A COLESHAW HALL WEDDING: DIANE & CALLUM
Share a little back story? How did you guys meet? Who made the first move?
We first met at secondary school when we were 12. I made the first move (or my friend did on my behalf much to my annoyance at the time!) and Callum’s response was ‘maybe’!! All ended well though when weeks later he asked me out on our first date and the rest is history.
Where and when was the proposal?
Callum proposed on a whim on our weekly date night. He took me to the bar that we went to on the day we moved into our first home together. Having been together for so long, my only request was for it to be a surprise and it was definitely that! I thought he was joking!! Only when he took me engagement ring shopping the next day did it really sink in!
What was the favourite part of your wedding day?
Our favourite part of the day was definitely the ceremony. Finally being able to say our wedding vows to each other after waiting so long because of having to push our wedding back multiple times was really special. The party was also a highlight – so much so that I ended up dancing in my slippers by the end!
What was it that made you choose Simply Beautiful Photo & Film to capture your day?
We really wanted our photographs to be natural and unposed and capture the day as it unfolded and having done a LOT of research, we kept coming back to the photos on Simply Beautiful Photo and Films website. Having had an initial no obligation phone call with SJ we loved her enthusiasm and passion for what she does and we instantly knew it would be a good fit!
Have you got any top tips for couples who are planning their wedding?
Make sure you enjoy every second. Take a moment on the day to just step back and take it all in. Having all your loved ones in one place to celebrate you as a couple is the best feeling.
Don’t get bogged down with the logistics too much – something is bound to change or go wrong just roll with the punches! Oh and make a spreadsheet (Callum insisted on this and I have to admit it saved a lot of time and effort!)
