A CRONDON PARK WEDDING: BECKY & SAMUAL

Share a little back story?  How did you guys meet?  Who made the first move?

Sam and I met at a mutual friend’s 18th birthday. Other than a bit of dancing among friends, we didn’t really talk to each other all evening until I decided I wanted Sam’s number at the end of the night. 

Where and when was the proposal?

Sam decided to propose to me on a ‘relaxing’ spa break to North Essex, which had been rearranged due to Covid. A lot of planning went into the proposal. Sam asked my dad for his permission, managed to pack the ring without me finding out and planned a dinner for the both of us that evening. So when it came to asking me the question, he asked me to open the curtains in the hotel room, so that he could get down on one knee without me noticing straight away.

What was the favourite part of your wedding day?

It’s difficult to pick just one single moment of the day, but the moment we saw each other at the aisle was really special and also a huge relief. Especially after all the initial anticipation on the morning of the wedding. It was also really special seeing our close friends and family from both sides meet for the first time and mingle with one another throughout the day and into the evening.

What was it that made you choose Simply Beautiful Photo & Film to capture your day?

We were really drawn to Simply Beautiful’s documentary style of photography and after looking through your online portfolio we knew we had to have Simply Beautiful capture our day. The photos we looked at came across more intimate than your usual staged ones you associate with a wedding. The fact that Simply Beautiful were able to offer videography as part of a package as well meant we didn’t have to stress about finding another supplier that had a similar style.

Have you got any top tips for couples who are planning their wedding?

Other than taking time out to spend alone as a couple, the most valuable piece of advice we could share is to discard any form of timekeeping. Pass that role onto your best man or maid of honour. As a result, it is easier to embrace every single moment of the day for what it is. If anyone approaches you and asks how long until the speeches, point to your order of the day display.
