A MONKEY ISLAND ESTATE WEDDING: SALLY & DAVID

Share a little back story?  

We met in February 2014 via mutual friends. Clearly, we both made an impression as we went on to date other people!  So we didn’t hook up immediately obviously however we did become good friends… we would even often run into each other on other ‘dates’ – David liked to make sure I didn’t forget seeing him…

Our first ‘proper’ date was the 4th June 2019: dinner at Nobu Shoreditch.

This was after not seeing for a few years, and me saying ‘ if you want to date me you first have to ask me on a date’.,… the following morning I received a text simply saying ‘Sally, will you go on date with me?’How did you guys meet?

Where and when was the proposal? 

It was in Santorini on the first May bank holiday weekend (2^ndMay) 2023

What was the favourite part of your wedding day?

Getting ready and walking down the aisle … and the music! Actually –  the whole day was our favourite. It was just perfect.

What was it that made you choose Simply Beautiful Photo & Film to capture your day?

 I looked  at, and met with, a lot of both photographers and videographers and I just loved the style of your photography and also I felt like it would all be very natural and relaxed on the day – and it was!! So many commented on how lovely you all were and how you were just so subtle. I also like that you do both the photography and video.

Have you got any top tips for couples who are planning their wedding?

 Tick off the chunky bits (venue, dress, entertainment, invites, flowers, rings etc) and then worry about the smaller things later….people are there to see you get married and don’t care about the small things that you care about.  On the day – try and spend as much time together as you can… go to table by table to say hello during the meal and be strict with each other to move on to the next after a few minutes or you won’t see many people during the day – and it’s so nice to see people together.
