A NUTHURST GRANGE WEDDING: SOPHIE & TOM
Sophie and Tom had a beautiful wedding in the heart of Solihull at the Nuthurst Grange wedding venue.
Thank you for trusting us with your day.

Share a little back story? How did you guys meet? Who made the first move?
We met in the world of online dating 9 years ago. Sophie had not long moved to Birmingham and was introduced to Tinder by a work friend. They both swiped right, but it was Sophie who made the first move with a simple “hey :)”, a month later and we had our first date at the Slug & Lettuce in Birmingham and the rest as they say is history.
Where and when was the proposal?
Tom had the ring for about six months before he proposed…. He claims he was waiting for the right moment. It ended up being on Christmas Eve back at our home (after a few drinks in Solihull with his family). We have a tradition that we get to open one present from each other on Christmas Eve before we go to bed, Tom opened Elton John tickets from Sophie and Sophie put her hand in her stocking and pulled out the ring box!
What was the favourite part of your wedding day?
Tom’s answer is he doesn’t have a favourite part, it was all fantastic. Sophie has a few favourite parts (is that allowed?!) I loved getting ready in the morning being pampered drinking coffee & champagne (not in one glass), walking into my Church with the Bridal Chorus playing and seeing Tom stood at the end of the aisle and then dancing the night away as husband and wife!
The next morning was great too, walking downstairs as newlyweds to all our friends and family who had stayed the night in the hotel cheering and clapping as we walked into the breakfast room!
What was it that made you choose Simply Beautiful Photo & Film to capture your day?
Simply Beautiful Photo & Film captured my friends wedding two years ago! I loved their photos and the little highlights film and I remember Heidi and Julian blending in so well with the guests and capturing great footage that we knew we’d like to have them for our wedding!
Have you got any top tips for couples who are planning their wedding?
Suppliers seem to get booked up so quickly now for weddings post covid, so make sure if you’ve been eying up a supplier, contact them and get a deposit in! I’d eyed up lots of suppliers before we were engaged (it had been 7 years, I was hoping it was coming soon!) and a lot of them were booked or on their holiday weeks.
Get recommendations from friends if you’re marrying locally to where they did, they’ll know how the supplier made them feel on the day and if they have a good “vibe”
Try not to get worked up by people…. This is the biggest cause of stress on/in the the run up to a wedding. Opinions/drop outs/requests for XYZ… we had a few drop outs the week of the wedding (and even two drop outs at 6pm the night before!!), but it all went great in the end and being surrounded by people who are all there for you & your husband/wife and cheering you on as a couple is the BEST feeling!
